Packing list for the hospital when I go into labor?

I know not to pack a bunch. I've decided to use a smaller bag so I'm not tempted to pack things I don't need. Lol.

CLOTHING
1.) So far I've got 2 old nightgowns to change into. I might not like the gowns that the hospital provides. Mine are shorter in length, with light, breathable fabric, but they have long, loose fitting sleeves. I doubt I'll feel up to shaving my underarms, so that's why I prefer longer sleeves.
2.) Because my nightgowns are shorter, I packed a pair of loose fitting shorts to wear underneath them. I just don't want anyone visiting to see my lady bits by accident, or feel uncomfortable about how short my gowns are. I don't plan on wearing shorts other then when people are visiting.
3.) 2 or 3 pairs of socks. I don't own a pair of slippers.
4.) 3 pairs of maternity underwear. Should I pack more just in case?
5.) I think I can make due with only one bra.
6.) An outfit to go home in. I was thinking a pair of sweatpants and a sweater.

The hospital provides shower basics and feminine health products. All I'll need is my toothbrush, toothpaste, and a razor.

Since there's a professional photographer at the hospital who takes pictures of you and your baby, I have no choice but to try to look nice that day. A little makeup, my hairbrush, and a few hairbands.

I only really need my iPhone and phone charger as far as electronics go.

Then there's my debit card, social security card, and driver's license.

Anything else you can think of?

Personally, the only thing I pack is a book (or my Kindle), a cheap nursing bra (because I don't know for sure what size I'll be when my milk comes in, so I'm not spending $100 on a bra until that point when I can be fitted) and my contacts/glasses stuff. The hospital provides sleepwear/nursing pajamas, socks, toiletries, towels, underwear, pads, diapers, wipes, etc.

My husband buys a take home outfit for the baby once we know how big the baby is and what size they wear, and he'll bring in whatever I feel like wearing home once that time comes.

Any valuables should stay home. Especially your social security card, id etc. You should pre register at the hospital so you don't need to bring any kind of id with you that day. They will put your things in a sterilized hospital bag and stuff it in a drawer somewhere, you really don't want to have something as important as your ssc laying around. As far as your list it seems reasonable. In my experience i didn't need any of my clothes as I was all swollen and even my comfy underwears seemed too small at the time, when visitors came I would just cover myself with a blanket. I was only there one day and a half anyway and only close relatives came to visit but your gowns seem ok. The one item i wouldn't leave behind is a camera. Yes sure the hospital photographer will come the next day to take cute pictures but it won't be there to capture your baby's first yawn, or smile, or baby's weight in, baby's umbilical cord cutting, 1st poopy face, lol. I have a ton of memorable first pictures.

I may have read past it, but an outfit for the baby? Lol I'm sure you have some packed just didn't see it listed. Have a few packed, plus some blankies. Anything else the hospital can probably provide you with while you're there.

Don't overdo it.
You don't need a nightgown, your gonna be so comfortable in hospital gown, they give you new ones if you ask.
Hospital will supply you with everything from pads to diapers everything! Even newborn clothes.
Just pack toiletries baby clothes for discharge and your clothes for discharge.

My friend has a new iPhone 4 I think she's on three but when she text's someone and sends it to the contact who messaged her the text then sends to all of her contacts and she doesn't know why. She's turned off the all contacts option and she still doesn't know why it does it any thoughts why?
  • I can't find my contacts list on iPhone? I had this iPhone for a couple of months now and I finally decided to actually use it as a phone. I inserted my sim card which contained my friends numbers. And everything seemed fine until I couldn't find them o. O When I was using my old phone, whenever I saved a number I saved it to my sim card, not phone so I don't have to re-save them all if I ever change the device. So what's wrong now? What should I do?
