Picture messaging with verizon wireless?

I have the iphone 4 and recently i've been sending more picture messages with my friends but i have a question. Is picture messaging coming from my unlimited texting plan, or from my data plan? Because i usually don't turn on my 3G when i'm out, and when my friends (who also have iphones) send me pics when i'm in the car or something, i don't receive them… And when i try to send pics to my non-iphone user friends, i can't send them unless i turn on my 3G. I always though picture messaging was incorporated with my unlimited messaging but i guess not? Like shouldnt i be technically be able to receive pics anywhere, and send pics anywhere/anyone since i have unlimited texting? Could anyone just give me a clear answer: P

Well it has to use some sort of data service to download the picture, its only like 30kb whixh is very small and overall it doesn't matter

Which means tuesday or Wednesday well now today is memorial day and i know no mail is running. So does it mean i will get the phone Thursday or wedsday
