Pink wet stains in iPhone 5 screen?
I was at a foam and glow party and now my phone screen has wet stains but they're pink. Anyone I can get rid of them by like putting it in rice or something? Phone works fine and nothing's wrong with it
It works fine for now but do expect problems later on. There's nothing you can really do since it sounds like the actual screen has been damaged somehow. I don't recommend people to replace the screen themselves because usually they do it wrong and if you go through Apple they will charge you quite a bit for the get it replaced. Of course you could always go to an Apple store and lie, say that the screens that are turning pink and they may switch the phone out for free but if the indicators for liquid exposure have been tripped then they consider that physical damage.
You can try using alcohol or bleach wipes. Sounds like the dye in the foam or powders uses at the event, have stained the screen protector on the phone and or the phone's plastic housing.
If it were me, I'd start with peeling off the screen protector and cleaning the phone with a damp towel, then move to the alcohol wipes and lastly bleach wipes if the first two options do not help with the stain.
Then I'd replace the screen protector.
In the future if you plan to take your phone to such events, put it in a ZIPLOCK bag, or buy a case for it made to be used under water.
- Will water stains on my iPhone screen damage my phone? Some water managed to get under my iPhone screen through a crack on the screen while it was raining. My phone works fine as of now, but there's a light blue stain and another white stain which look like dripping water under my phone screen. I'd really rather not pay for a repair on new phone and I can live with the stains, I'm just worried that they'll damage my phone. Do I need to dry it out or is it unlikely to cause a problem? TIA
- Will water stains on my iPhone harm it? I have a flight in the morning and the only way I've found to get rid of water stains takes days. It's not to drastic but I want to know if it ll harm my phone, because I don't have time to fix it. Will it?
- Why is my iPhone 5 screen pink? I charge it overnight, plugged in, face up, on the corner of the bed. Nothing happens to it, I just woke up and it was like this. Last time this happened (which was once), I noticed I had a phone update, so I updated it. When it turned back on, it was fine. But this time, there's no update. Does anyone know what I can do?
