Programming help? Complete Newbie to it?

Hey I'm completely new to programming (as in I have no idea what it is and what to do) I was advised to a start of by learning C as I hope to learn to make Iphone apps and program Arduino. My question is where is a good place to learn C as I really have no clue what programming is or if there's any tutorials I can follow thanks. And should I learn any more other languages after I learn C to help me with Iphone app development and for Arduino?

Added (1). And would I need a Macbook to learn C (Properly as advised) ?

No you do not need a mac book to learn C properly. You do need it to program an iphone -- Apple doesn't want us using our dirty Toshiba Satellites to program the silly thing even though mine has slackware with GNUStep and Objective C on it already. Objective C is what you want for the iphone C is what you want for the arduino. Just go to the bookstore and look for SAMS or O'Reilly books.

Look for courses on your town/city.

Would I need a Macbook to learn C - NO!
As a start get an arduino and work through some examples.
Learn C as you would learn swahili - by immersion.
You will soon pick up the basics.
THEN get a book.

  • We could not complete your itunes store request - Apple "The network connection could not be stablished" - "An unknown error occurred (-50)" So I downloaded iTunes on my new desktop and plugged my iPhone, when I try to sign in to download all my apps to my computer it says the above things. I have tried all I could to go around it, I uninstalled iTunes and re-installed again. I can't really find how to report this to Apple… So this has to do. Any help?
  • New iPhone 4 won't complete sync? Just bought an iPhone 4 off someone and he assured me it was all fine. Get home, connected my sim card and everything was backed up from my previous phone and went on smoothly. Its 32 gb and I have plently of room. When I got to sync it, it goes from 'preparing to sync' to 'syncing mail accounts' and then step 3 of 6 is 'determining what apps to sync' and from there the synv just stops and I'm not sure what's wrong. The iPhone is updated.
  • IPhone newbie. I need advice? I have always had an Android. I dropped it and broke the screen. I was able to upgrade to an iPhone for free. My question is this: is there any app that has free songs on it already? Not looking for an app that takes me to a website. Androids have tons of apps that have tons of songs in their libraries. So far, I can't find an iPhone app that does.
  • Iphone Complete Reset Problem? I really need to complete reset from Reset All Content and Setting but Iphone is password protected and i forget my password. iphone have buttons for reset from bios like Android (power + volume)?
