Pros and cons in buying apple stock?

Ok, so if I bought an AAPL stock like 2 weeks before the new iPhone is released, what would be the pros and cons of this (is it a good investment, how much money do you think I would make by the end of the year, if stocks went down next year, would I lose money, etc)? Also, how exactly would I make money? Do I get a paycheck or do I have to wait for the stock to gain value and then sell it?

You should just buy mutual funds until you learn something - anything - about stocks.

Stock prices goes up and down depending on future expectations, and buying AAPL 2 weeks before the new iPhone is released doesn't guarantee you a return, indeed you could see that although apple has more than $29 billion revenue for the last quarters, the stock dropped significantly because it was less thant the expectation of analyst.

Concerning stocks in general, 2 returns are possible
-Capital Gain (or loss) you buy a stock at price P, when you sell it at P1 if P1 is higher than P you get capital gain

-Dividend: if you hold the stock for a certain amount of time, you get Dividend payment (it can be cash or more shares of the stock) not all companies are paying dividend, for example Apple is known to not pay dividend for many years.

I'm thinking of buying an apple stock for 615.since the iphone is coming out i would buy it.of course i'm not an expert in stocks but thats what i would expect
