Pros and cons of jail breaking your iPhone 4S?

So I'm thinking about jail breaking my iPhone 4s, and before I do I'd like to know the pros and cons of it. Will my phone still work the same? What are the risks? Etc. Just basically all I need to know about jailbreaking, thanks!

I did this to my iPod and it's awesome. But it will void the warranty but you can always restore your iPhone from iTunes on your laptop or pc. It is really cool but it can also slow your device a little bit. I'm on my IPod right now and it's cool

Pros- better, will work on any carrier

Cons- ruins the warranty, have to re unlock if you take out micro sim card

Pros of jailbreaking:
* You can use your phone overseas
* gain access to forbidden apps/services

Cons:
* People could gain access to your data since you don't know who you're dealing with when you subject yourself to having someone jailbreak your phone
*You're more susceptible to viruses
*Battery life can suffer
*Apps offered by Cydia aren't guaranteed to be as stable as the apps in the app store (more crashing on your device= less enjoyment with your device for you since you'd have to reset it a lot)
*Apple will void your warranty (you can't get any repairs or maintenance done on your phone when it's jailbroken should you need Apple's assistance with an issue)
*You won't receive updates for apple apps when your device is Jailbroken
*If you try to restore your phone because you don't like the jailbroken experience you may have some unknown issues if it was updated to iOS 4.0.1 or greater
*

If you don't have any good reasons to do it, then you shouldn't.

  • What are the pros and cons of a sprint and tmobile merge? Will my coverage speeds change? Will my Tmobile iPhone 5c be technically be running off of sprints network? Sprint is just downright terrible. I don't want to be paying a cent for service I can't use. Please tell me this isn't the case. TMobile uses HSPA+ network, and sprint uses CDMA. Those technologies are 2 totally different technologies, therefore probably rendering them incompatible.
  • Ups and downs of jail breaking your iPhone? Me and my brother are thinking of jail breaking out phones. But what are the pros and cons of doing this before I do it?
  • Should I Buy the iPhone 5 from Apple or Verizon? (Pros and Cons Please.)? My wireless phone service is on a business plan and only the business owner is our Verizon Account Manager, so I do not have rights to access my Verizon account. I have had my Blackberry Storm2 for over 3 years and I'm wondering if it is better for me to wait and see if Verizon will offer the 64GB iPhone 5 at a discounted price for me or if Apple will offer the iPhone 5 at the same exact price as Verizon including the ability to sync with my Verizon business account?
  • Pros & Cons of Jailbreaking your iPhone? Ok, so I have an iPhone 4 and I would just like to know the good and bad things about jailbreaking an iPhone. If you've already jailbroken your iPhone, would you suggest it for other people or not? Have you had any major bugs harm your phone, or is it pretty safe to jailbreak? Will my phone still work the same? What are the risks? Etc. Just basically all I need to know about jailbreaking, thanks!
