Removing all letters from text document?
I have a text document that has letters, numbers and these characters: ,.
Its a document with letters and words at the start of each sentence then numbers and then the full stops at the end of each sentence.
I want to remove all the letters and words from the document and leave everything else, i have mac and iphone and don't know of any apps and software thaf can do this.
Does anyone know of any?
Thank you
Added (1). Heres a pic of the document,
Its an ip blocklist that goes into torrent programs like utorrent,
So just need all letters and stuff thats before the numbers gone.
The best way to do it is with Emacs or VIMS, old and extremely powerful Linux console programs. If you can't get access to those try googling "mac piping", which should give you something that can perform the same task.
I don't know of any other way - this could take some time:
Paste the text into word (I'm using Word2007: P )
then 'search' (CTRL+F)
and type in the letter or word (I'd suggest starting with whole words) that you want to remove.
then select 'Highlight All'
and say 'Replace' (it should be a tab at the top - or look around)
Leave the replace option blank
and say 'Replace All'
- one word/letter/s at a time: P
Hope that helps
(there's probably an easier way out there, but hey… )
Why must we be blind to this document? Can you take a screenshot of the page and post it at flickr.com?
Then we could really understand the best way to help you.
EDIT:
What odd thing are you doing at Flickr? That is a simple deal to post a photo. Your link is not good. All photo links at www.flickr.com will start with www.flickr.com, but your link shows "m".flickr.com and that is just wrong. Probably this isn't going to go anywhere.
- Which iphone apps have letters as their logo? So for prom i want to ask this girl by spelling out 'will you go to prom with me' using apps, but i'm having trouble finding apps that have letter-logos. If you could tell me the name of the app that would be extremely helpful.
- What is the document and data on iCloud? What is it exactly? Apps? Notes? I don't know! I have an iPhone and an iPod that both uses iCloud I'm just wondering what it is exactly!
- What does the letters S, Grey D, Dark D and R, mean in kik? Some people say that it will be Dark D until they open the app. Does the app have to be open or can they just be on there iPhone and still not opened the app for it to be Dark D?
- My iphone 4s has some chinese/korean letters on the back instead of the usual symbols? I purchased a new iphone 4s sim free unlocked 32 gigs, and on the back panel it has the usual apple logo, Iphone, then designed by Apple in California and then some asian symbols, and then there's a logo something like IC and then KCC-CMM-APA-A1387. I bought it new, it works perfect( it is original) but why is the back panel different from the other iphones?
