Restoring/Deleting data on iPhone 3GS?
Is there another, quicker way to restore the iPhone 3GS to factory settings? I've heard it can take 3-4 hours. If I delete all of my contacts, notes, pictures etc myself would this be enough?

I have upgraded my iphone 4s to the new iOS, and then a few days later, tried connecting my device to my PC ( i have the new itunes).It, however, tells me that it can't connect to my iphone and that i should go to 'Preference' and select to 'restore to factory' settings. Will this erase my data and 'degrade' my phone to the previous iOS?
- Restoring an iPhone 3gs that has been jailbroken? I have recently bought a Blackberry however my old phone (iPhone 3GS) had been jailbroken so it was stuck on ios 3.1.2 and now I need to upgrade the software. I opened up itunes and tried to upgrade but it failed so I clicked restore and that failed as well. Now I have no access to my phone and the screen is a usb telling me to connect to itunes. I really need some advice. Is it possible to get my phone working again!

I'm not asking for the restore with itunes. I want to format it quick. Any tools available in the software market?
- My IPhone 3GS keeps deleting my contacts? I have an iPhone 3GS for about a few years now and lately it seems that whenever I turn it off and then when I turn it back on, my contacts disappear. The numbers and texts will still be there but the names that I save the numbers as disappears. Why is this happening? What can I do to fix this?
