Router Change IP address of my iPhone 6?

Apparently someone got my IP address and I really need to change my IP address so I won't get ddosed. People are saying that if I turn off router and turn on, it will change my iPhone's IP address. Is it true? If yes, how do you turn off?

I'm not convinced that "someone got your (public) IP address, but let's think this through for a minute. You're saying that something you did or somewhere you went surfing allowed "someone" to get your IP address. If that's true, since you don't know what you did that allowed "them" to get your IP -- how are you going to stop it from happening again with a new public IP address? Since you don't know how it happened… How can you make sure it doesn't happen again?

Just thought I'd say that out loud for once. Now back to reality. Your router and your ISP should be capable of sensing and blocking a DDoS attack on your public IP.

So plenty of people get your ip address. Any website you visit gets it. Any firewalls you try to connect to get your ip address. Just unplug it for a little bit and then plug it back in. Any person that says they are gonna ddos don't really have the resources to do it. Your isp provides a bit of ddos protection automatically anyways.

Good luck; you are misinformed. Your LAN IP address is controlled by your router; your public IP address is controlled by your ISP
