Samsung galaxy s III, or iPhone 5?

My mum is trying to decide on a new phone and is thinking about the Iphone 5 or the galaxy s III. Which do you recommend?

i'm guessing an iPhone if thats the case tell her to get the iPhone.

5's hardware is far superior to anything out there today. Iphones are also the safest phones today because all app code goes through itunes and it reviewed before getting there, so you don't need antivirus apps running like you need on other phones.

Samsung is Korean, and I'd rather keep money in our economy instead of Korea.

Don't buy s3, it is way too huge for your hand.

They're both fantastic handsets which have proved extremely popular so it's no wonder your mum is finding it difficult to choose between them. Thew first thing i'd suggest is she thinks about which features are most important to her when purchasing a new handset and then making the decision based on that.

The initially most obvious difference between is the size and the weight of them. The iPhone 5 is made of lightweight aluminium and only weighs 112g where as the S3 feels a little more sturdy, and is bigger and weighs more at 133g.

They've both got the same 8mp camera, and their ability to record video is also extremely similar.

If being able to expand the memory capacity of your phone to enable you to store more photos or video is important, then the S3 is the one for your mum - as it has a built in Micro SD slot, something which the iPhone 5 does not. However, if she is already an Apple user, and is used to the iOS operating system then maybe she should chose the iPhone 5 as it is simple and a lot of people prefer the user interface.

What i'd suggest is popping down into one of our stores and getting a member of our team to go through each handset in a bit more detail and let your mum have a hands on play with each phone. Sometimes you'll find it's not the specifications which determine which is the best phone to choose, but more often simply how it feels in the hand.

IPhone 5, it is sleek, simple and has a nice quality to the opperating system that apple only has.
However, the 4s is one icon row smaller and a lot cheaper so take a look at it!
