Should I buy an iPhone 4s or iphone 5? I own a blackberry bold 3 phone now

I'm presently owning a blackberry bold 3 - I know its quite an old phone. I was planning to upgrade my phone. I'm going for an iphone and that is for sure.

Now I stay in Malaysia where buying phones from a carrier doesn't make any sense because its very expensive and their plans are bull ***. I know in US the carrier plans are very good and people can buy the latest phones for some decent price.

So I have to buy an unlocked iPhone here. Now the question is whether I should go for Iphone 4S or the IPhone 5. I recently went to apple store and saw Iphone 5.It looked a bit odd to me in terms of its length. The other features that excited me was 1GB ram (I don't play any games by the way) and the faster processor (I don't know how fast it is! )
The prices of iphone 4s has fallen here and its not available in any of the local apple stores. Its available only online from istore. I was all out and planned to buy 4s since the size of the phone is very handy and also the features of phone were quite sufficient.

But my friends here warn me that Apple 4s phones will be phased out and no one will buy them after 2 years when you want to sell. We should always go for the latest phone with Apple and blah blah.

- Given all this I'm really confused. I want to buy iPhone but I'm not able to decide.

I personally think that you should by the 4S, because if you don't need the bigger ram and the extra length it'll be useless! It doesn't really matter if you still want to sell it in the future, people are still selling the iPhone 4 and I think that's been out 2 years! So, I think you should get the 4S instead of the 5!

I think you should buy Iphone 5 with the best features and specifications.

Actually both of the phones didn't have any like major diffs only the size and a faster processor and etc. Its a good upgrade actually but its not a "wow finally a better upgrade it so great!" type of phone. If youre keeping on track of trends, well go for 5. If you want to save your money go for 4s.

You are very clear in selecting Iphone-4S according to your requirements the only problem is that you went in dilemma by listening to your friends. Remember one thing we're buying mobile phones to use not to sell right. Anyway after 2 years no one prefers Iphone-5, may be that would be the time for be 7 or 8. Choose one that best matches to your requirement.

5 is obviously best but Iphone 4 is free right now with a 2 year contract.
