Should I buy my son a iPhone 5S?

Hi. My son is 10 years old, about to be 11. He's had his iPhone 4 for a while now, but he dropped it yesterday, and its demolished, front and back. I know he's wanted a iPhone 5 for a very long time. Should I just buy him the 5S for his birthday? I think he'd be really happy with it, cause now he currently does't have a phone.

Get a galixy s4 or s5. They are much better specs than iphones and they have gorilla glass so they are much more durable and waterproof.

I'm 13 and I only have a discontinued (that's how old it is) Samsung, I've never had an Apple product. If you really do get him another one, get an older version because this can cost a lot for you. I take care of my phone much more than my friends who have iPhones do. It teaches responsibility and taking care of your things. Sure he probably didn't do it on purpose, but I say you wait before getting him some of the newest gadgets.

I really like the 5S model, as it features the new home button but isn't as big as the iPhone 6.

As well though, the back can't smash as it isn't glass.
To be on the safe side, get him a study case and as well, you can get screen protectors that are made of thin glass so that the screen wouldn't smash it would be the screen protector that would.

Price wise they've gone down loads, and are actually really cheap now.

If I was you, I'd get it for him. But just make sure he's careful.

You are his parent, you should get him anything that you can afford to get him as a gift.

If you don't buy a decent case for it, you're going to have a short term investment on your hands.

If you get him the 5S get him a case for it like an otterbox. I have an ottoerbox defender for my iphone 6. I had one for my 5 as well. Get the 5S only because Apple no longer makes the 5 anymore just the 5S and 5C.

No he needs to learn to look after his stuff just getting him the next model for his bday is like saying you wrecked this phone before your bday so heres a new phone lol the problem is kids have no respect for the cost of these things and thats what he needs to learn i had my first phone at 12 and i looked after it for 2-3 years

Did he destroy the 4 deliberately so that he'd get a 5S? Just get him a less expensive phone. An 11 year old doesn't need anything more than a basic phone.
