Thinking of buying my wife a Mac book pro?
I'm thinking of buying my wife a Mac book pro she has wanted one for a while but is a afraid she won't like the change from pc to Mac. She has an iPad third generation and an iPhone 4S that she adores. What are some pros and cons of buying it? Is it a waste of money? She has a Sony Vaio which has great specs but is tired of dealing with antivirus and the photo editing software that comes on the Mac is at better than the pc software. So should I buy my wife a Mac book pro?

as long as she is not a gamer and she doesn't do heavy tasks an ultra book will do her.
or get a hardcore pc like lenovo y580 or y500 those are really hardcore laptops and cheap.

Yes. You should because she asked for it for a while. If she doesn't like it, you should buy her something she likes better. It isn't a waste of money if she loves it. It is a waste of money if she hates it, but you won't know until she tries it. Let her test drive it at a store.
I don't know the the heck that other user was talking about viruses. A PC is much more open system and much more prone to viruses. The reasons the Mac viruses are in the news is because its the first time they've gotten a virus. They don't want to bore you with the hundreds of viruses people get on PC's because it happens to often. Also, if she love her iPad and iPhone, she'll love the Mac because it has similar operating systems and sync easily and smoothly. If you get her a Mac, I promise she'll love it and never look back. As an experienced Mac user, you will not regret the Mac (unless you are a hacker or very intelligent with computer, meaning writing code, etc)
