Should I get a Mac or PC laptop?

I've always used PCs but when I went to college it seemed like everyone had a Mac. I used my friend's a couple of times and they seem kind of confusing, but it's pretty easy adapting to new technology for me. I've always been more of a PC kind of a girl, but I also said I wouldn't ever get an iPhone until I did and I love it.

I upload, save, and edit a lot of pictures, which I also sometimes put in videos. I do basic surfing and a lot of research, so I use the internet a lot. I'll also be using it for writing papers and such for college classes. I also use it for music, in which case I use iTunes. I don't really do any gaming on it or anything like that. Which would be best for me?

I use Microsoft Word and Excel a lot; what does Mac use and do you have to buy it separately like Microsoft Office? Is there anything you can do on a PC that you can't do on a Mac?

If you have experience with both, I would appreciate any help I could get!

Apple foolled the world that Mac is a really good laptop, trust me its not, get a pc laptop is better

Well if you have the cash then yeah a mac would be a good fit for you being you have a iphone and your not in to gaming or anything else where you would need more power. And as for Microsoft office and excel macs use Microsoft office and excel mac witch is like the windows office and excel just a bit worse.using Microsoft products will always be better on PC. And yes there are many many things a mac can't do that a pc can but it doesn't seem like you would be doing any of them. If you were I would think more of your fellow students would not own a mac. And as a side note there's no real practical reason to use a mac it is just the fashionable thing to own.a PC can look as good be as thin light weight faster and all for much less but again with a mac your not buying working computer with a mac your buying all the coolness and style of the badge it wears.

Macs are overpriced low end hardware is shinny boxes, featuring an over restrictive and proprietary operating system that is in fact just a dumbed down version of Linux for Dummies.

Lots of things you can only do on a PC…

But if you have to fit in with the "cool" crowd, than by all means buy a Mac!

This is a really good laptop for its price http://www.currys.co.uk/...3-pdt.html

And look at this to make sure I'm not lying of its quality

You are wasting your time asking this Q here. Might as well ask the Chevy forum what it is like to own a BMW. They will just spit on BMWs and yell about the high price.

The main advantage of Apple products is careful design and advanced hardware.

The product quality is reflected by the repair / service reliability chart at the link below.

The advanced hardware "SPECS" are…
- Aluminum enclosure (what Mac haters call "shiny" and "pretty" intending it as a criticism-In fact, cheap-o plastic is shinier!).
- EFI firmware as developed by Intel for modern computers (faster and no BIOS to struggle with).
- Thunderbolt (look it up).
- Firewire 800 (look it up).
- High pixel density screen (If you can't see this difference next to a PC screen, you need glasses).
- MagSafe power connector (to lessen the chance of tripping over the cord and sending the computer flying off the desk).
- Glass trackpad (for advanced gestures - Mac haters call this "no right-click button").

"I use Microsoft Word and Excel a lot; what does Mac use"

Mac can use more than Windows, such as MS Office, Apple Pages and Numbers, NeoOffice, OpenOffice, LibreOffice, and Google Docs.

If you fall in love with some Windows app, you can install Windows on any Mac and then you have more software available than on the PC.
