Should I monitor my 11year old niece?

Okay this generation and future generations already know most things they shouldn't know (about sex, drugs, etc) at an EXTREMELY young age and also not from a guardian or parent --

I was wondering should I monitor what apps my niece uses on her iphone and if I should go through her youtube and unsubscribe her from adult youtubers (Shane Dawson, Princess Julie, etc) and talk to her about this stuff when she gets a little bit older? Because of the stuff is quite suggestive and I honestly don't think she's mentally capable of understanding it or comprehending it.

I think you want what's best for her. But that is taking it to far. You shouldn't go behind her back and unsubscribe her and snoop through her phone. If you feel worried you should maybe talk with her parents, but really that is crossing a line. I'm also pretty sure she would catch on soon enough and just re subscribe.

No, you shouldnt.
She isn't your child, and unsubscribing would probably make her subscribe again. Don't monitor her apps either, that takes away her freedom.
She might have already heard about that stuff, anyway. I learnt about them at her age, and giving her the talk when she's older will be really awkward, and again, she's not your child.
Just leave her be.

My daughter is 10 and we keep an eye on all of that stuff. Kids look up all kinds of things. I would stay on top of it.

i don't snoop at the phone, i just say hand it to me and i look. I pay the bill. Its all in the best interest of the child. I think they will be less likely to do things they shouldn't if they know you are on top of things.

This is not your child. Mind your own business. It's not YOUR decision what things she should and should not know.

YES. Little girls get picked up on the net all the time. Adults are responsible for the protection of our kids. All Adults, All kids. The world is the way it is because of adults shirking their responsibilities.
