Should i proceed to iOS 6.1.3 before updating to iOS 7 beta 6?
I was having a trouble in updating my iPhone 4S. Before, it's actually an jalbroken iOS 6.1 so then i was really crazy about updating my iPhone into newly iOS 7 beta. So then i couldn't restore it because the iOS 6.1 is so outdated so then i did an update straightly without doing a fresh so-called "RESTORE". And now, my phone got stucked on white apple logo and it won't restart. But the good thing is, i can still my put my iPhone into DFU mode and bring to iTunes. Now my questions is, should i restore normally on iTunes in DFU mode? Or should i restore/update by (Shift Method) locating the downloaded iOS 6.1.3? Or can i restore normally on (Shift Method) by using the old iOS 6.1? I'm confused and my iPhone 6.1 is jailbroken. Need help!
Can't restore a JB iphone
You CAN restore a jailbroken iPhone, I've done it myself many times. The first thing I would do is put it into recovery mode by holding the home and power buttons until the logo appears and then holding the home button still while releasing the power button for another 11 seconds, you should get a 'connect to iTunes' message or something of the sort. From there update to whichever one, 6.1.3 is going to be quicker since you're probably going to have to update it to that anyway before you go onto the iOS 7 beta anyway.
You should probably install 6.1.3 first to be safe. Also, it's not a good idea to install iOS 7 unless you register your device's UDID with a developer account through a site like http://www.udid.in/.It's $5, and then you don't have to worry about Apple disabling your device for running unreleased software.
- Will updating my iPhone apps affect my phone speed as how updating the Operating System (OS) will? Currently I'm using the iPhone 5s on iOS 8.3 I know if I were to update my phone to the latest OS I may notice some slowdown on my phone's performance, since it may not have the "muscle" to handle certain functions. Many apps now are optimised for iOS 9 and/or the 6th generation phones. Will my 5s' speed performance slow down if I update my apps? Will the app's performance slow down?
- Want to update to beta 3, having problems updating? I have ios 7 beta 1. I want to update to the recent beta 3, HOWEVER it says that my software is already up to date. I know it is not up to date because I'm running version 11a4372q. I have an iphone 4s. How can I update to beta 3?
- Updating iOS 6.1.3 to iOS 7 Beta? And i have an iPhone 4 running on Verizon, i'm trying to get the beta for iOS 7 because it looks really cool. I'm not computer ignorant, i just can't seem to find how to do this, my iPhone is not jailbroken or unlocked. - Trying to update my iPhone 4 to iOS 7 beta 5, but not updating? I downloaded the iOS 7 beta 5 CDMA file off of ios7stuff.com and I tried updating my phone with the file and my iTunes has been saying "Verifying updated iPhone software" for almost 20 minutes, and my phone screen turned black with the Apple and updating status bar but the update isn't starting. Help! and I do not have a UDID I also have been using iOS 7 beta 3 for a while but it didn't update to beta 4 or 5 which is why I tried downloading beta 5 directly.
