Should I save the $1,158 for a car or spend $700 now for a new iPhone 6?
I'm on my learners currently and I have saved $1,158 from babysitting last year. My parents say that I can get a car when I have my restricted, and I plan on getting that at the end of the year when I will be 17. I'm going to pay for the car myself, (my parents might give $500, but we will see). The problem is that I want a new phone, and I want the iPhone 6. I don't like the size of the 5s and I have the 4s now. I don't like spending such a big amount of money ($700) but I know it will last me long because I don't loose and drop my phones, and I'm not one of those people who buy the newest technology when it is released. Should I spend $700 of my $1,158 and have $458 left or just save it and get a new phone later in the year? I hate being so indecisive! I want lots of money but I want a new phone, with lots of money left over! Btw I'm not trying to brag in anyway, I just don't know what I should do and I want more opinions!
Brag?
lol - chum youve got a couple of grand - there's no bragging (that being said - well done on what you have saved)
anyway
I'm 45, have plenty of cash in the bank and am very happy using my 4s - I will continue to use it until it no longer serves my needs
as for you
what you "want" versus what you "need" or mores the point what is "prudent" is the question for you
saving towards your goals, making do and being smart has never produced a poor result
I suppose it would depend on how much you want one over the other. Your learning to drive so when you get your licence will you be a bit upset that you can't afford a decent car because you just spent your money on a phone. So is it car or is it phone, your decision.
I have a flip phone and a newer car. I hate the idea of having to use a high-tech phone to call a tow truck for some junker.
"I want everything!" ---
a common problem, even when we sort of grow up.
Only you can decide what is most important to you,
but logical thought (something I use often)
would recommend that you continue to live with your present phone
(if it works, that's good enough, isn't it?)
and get a car.
- Should I get the free M8 with Sprint or should I spend 199.99 and get M9 or iPhone 6? Will the M8 be okay? Is it really worth 199 for m9 or i6 do they do anything that different that I should get either of this phones? I just can't decide. My problem was being stupid as a teen and Sprint wants a 250 dollar deposit. And to pay 199 for a new phone or pick a free phone. Would you spend 450 to get a new phone or 250 and get a phone that is a little older.
- Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
- If I buy a new stereo for my car with a USB port can it work in any car? My stereo in my 1998 transport just died. This surprisingly excited me. I just got a new IPhone and I'm constantly installing new music. I'm wondering if I can buy a radio with a USB port and put it in my 98 transport even though my car didn't come with a USB port in the radio. Is this at all possible?
- How to make $700 dollars in 1-2 weeks? I'm 15 years old and I need new golf clubs within the next 2 weeks. Ill do pretty much whatever it takes except anything illegal and will work as hard as I need to. Selling things is an option but I don't have many things left to sell except my iphone that I need for school and helping with my dads business. Working for my parents isn't an option because if they had the money they would buy the clubs for me.
