Should I stop playing piano?

I love piano so much, I've been playing for nine years, and i have a 26,000 follower instagram account for the piano. However, for about six months now, my wrists have been experiencing clicking and cracking, mainly in my left hand, which can be painful at times but not for the most part. I have cut out other repetitive wrist motions like iPhone games, etc, but the cracking is worrying to me. I'm afraid of permanently damaging my wrists. Is this carpal tunnel? Should i stop playing piano?

If it hurts, i say going a little softer on the piano. But most people that use their hands have or develop that crackling so don't worry. I draw with my right hand and i have that crackling only on my right wrist. But if youre worried, check it out.

Go to the doctor! Might be serious.

Call doctor.

If you are a serious piano player (I can't say that is determined by Instagram followers), you should look up doctors for performing artists where you live. You don't want to take this casually.

YOu should see it with a doctor

Are you playing very difficult and loud songs where you have to hit the keys really hard? I don't see how playing piano can put that much of a strain on your wrists unless something else is involved. (You can get carpal tunnel syndrome for seemingly no reason at all). Also,
doctors will tell you not to stop moving, even if you have a painful condition (except in the case of broken bones). Maybe you can start playing gentle lullabys so it will be easier on you wrists, but I don't think you should stop all together.
