Should I upgrade to an iPhone 5? - 1
I'm currently on a $30, 24 month contract with optus and have an iPhone 4S which I pay $18 a month for. I'm 1 year and 1 month through my contract and of course my iPhone decides to stuff up, with the warranty no longer valid. The Wi-Fi on/off switch has greyed out and therefore can't be turned on. I have tried so many things to fix it but nothing has worked. Going to go into an optus store this week to see how much it would cost to repair/replace. But I was wondering if anyone knows how I could go about upgrading to an iPhone 5 instead.
Would I be able to stick to my $30 contract and just pay more for the handset payments (and add the extra 12/24 months)?
Any ideas on how much I would generally have to pay?
I know that there will be plenty of you who
will say its my choice, but would like your
opinion anyway.
My contract has just expired and i called
Vodafone to see what offers they could give
me on the iPhone 5 as i'm a "Valued
Customer"
At the moment my tariff has gone down from
£47pm to £18 till i decide what to do. They
offered my a used iPhone 5 that has
apparently been used for a couple of days on
their 7 day trial for £33pm, usually £47.
I have two concerns about this
1, I'm presuming that whoever tried the phone
has plugged it into iTunes and the Apple
warranty has been triggered. Not knowing
how long its been sitting in Vodafone's stock i
could have lost several months worth of
warranty.
2, Is the iPhone 5 really worth upgrading to?
There are plenty of tales of disappointment
with it out there and i'd be stuck with it for
another 2 year contract. It also seems that
they have plenty of used 5's in stock which
tells me that there are plenty of people who
were disappointed with it.
I'm quite happy with my 4S but am really
tempted to get the 5. Just don't want to regret
it for the next 2 years and and watch the 5S
or 6 pass me by.
What would you do if you were me
In my opinion you must stuck with the 4S only. As it's the best one among the two. IPhone 5 is comparatively poor one. And you can even have a look over the reviews of the two on internet. You will get to know that 4S is the best one. I have used both and i just love being with the 4S only.
You won't be able to upgrade your phone, your only choice is to repair your phone. If you want the iPhone 5, you can either pay it off outright or you'd have to pay out the remaining balance of your contract and the remaining handset repayments, then start a new plan.
- When I upgrade my iPhone, can I upgrade to the same phone? I have the iPhone 4S and my upgrade is soon, but I don't want the iPhone 5. And I have some little cracks and my speakers are weird. So when my upgrade comes can I just get the same phone that I have now?
- What is the different between full upgrade and early upgrade? So AT&T said I qualify for a early upgrade on my iPhone now but I quality for a full iPhone upgrade in october. What is the difference?
- Verizon upgrade date? Any way to upgrade early? So today I went to the Verizon store to get the new iPhone 6. It came to 399, and everything was cool. But then, they realized I couldn't upgrade phones until March of 2016, and that if I still wanted the phone, it would come too around 800 dollars. So I was like yeah no thanks, and I left, all bummed out. So I was wondering if there's any way I could get the iPhone but, not for that outrageous price?
- Should I upgrade from iphone 4s to iphone 5s or wait for a potential iphone 6? I have an upgrade. My 4s is starting to act up. Is it worth it to upgrade or should I stick it out until the next one is released?
