Should i use a duffel bag or small suitcase as my carry on?

I'm going to visit a friend and i'm not sure if i should use a medium sized duffel bag or a small cuitcase as my carry on/main luggage. I'd be putting my basic stuff in it like clothes, makeup (the liquid would obviously go in the bag of liquids with my other stuff like hair spray, shampoo, etc) & maybe a pair of flip flops (i'm wearing slip on shoes in the airport). All of my important things like documents, ipod, iphone, chargers, etc will go in my personal item/small backpack.

It is really a matter of preference. If you would like a carry on with wheels bring the small suitcase.

If your carry-on has wheels, that's the way to go. If it doesn't, then they're both about the same.

Clothes will usually stay less wrinkled in a suitcase since they can be packed so they don't move around much. Other than that, you take the one easiest to carry. I'd never take a duffel bag. I always take a wheeled suitcase. My shoulder can't take carrying a bag miles through an airport.

I love duffel bags because if you watch Hollywood movies you will see that people who carry them are always the most experienced travellers. Duffel bags are easy, and can compress down or be filled with more stuff later. If you have to walk a reasonable distance, they are much easier than a wheeled suitcase.

But a suitcase is much easier to pack to make the carry on limits, so I would go with the wheeled suitcase.

I think, if you have wheeled suitcase then you can do easily carry your all accessories. Make sure you get a suitcase with an additional strap with a quick release buckle at the top.
