Siri vs S-voice for day-to-day use?

In the past, I've used both Android and iPhone phones. My current phone is an Android running 4.2. The Google now "voice assistant" is excellent for finding information, converting things, looking up photos, etc., but it's not so great at day-to-day commands such as setting up appointments, reminders, understanding fluid questions, etc. Siri seemed to be better at these types of things in the past, but on the 4s I had the 3G service in my area was very poor, and I got a lot of server connection errors when trying to use Siri.

So I've heard Samsung now puts a "S-voice" on their phones, which I guess is their answer to Siri, and a competitor to the Google assist. Has anyone used this extensively? From what I find online about it, it SEEMS to suggest that the Samsung phones have built-in apps similar to iPhones now for notes, reminders, etc., and that you can speak commands to S-voice and have it put in your appointments and emails, similar to Siri. Is it that similar? Reliable?

I just want to be able to tell my phone things like, "Remind me to call my Sister when I get home", and, "Mark my calendar on the 25th for an appointment with my doctor", or similar commands. I know Siri can do it (with a good data connection) but was wondering if S-voice can handle that as well.

S voice is not as developed as how Apple developed Siri. Samsung seem to put only that feature in to compete but it can't do nearly as much stuff as Siri. Quite often I find myself repeating several times before S Voice can pick up what I say. More importantly I feel Siri is more convenient to access (Just hold down the home button and speak your command). On the other hand, S voice (when activated) you have to say "Hi Galaxy" in order for it to start working.

  • Why S-Voice sucks compare to SIRI on iPhone? I got galaxy s3 and the s voice sucks on it. I'm wondering if it sucks on the iphone 4s (siri)? How acuarate is it? Sorry for my mistakes and grammar. I suck.
  • Why is IPhone Siri funnier than iPad Siri? I have an iPad mini. Siri is so boring on mine. She just says, "I can't answer that." Or "is that so?". On my friends iPhone, she replies really funny. Also on the Internet I see funny convos with Siri all from iPhone and not on iPad mini. Why is it that siri is funnier on iPhone? They are both part of apple!
  • Siri/voice control on iphone 5 turning on randomly? Whenever I'm listening to something (podcast, music, etc.) siri will frequently turn on. I turned off siri and voice controll will turn on instead. I have had my iphone 5 for 6 months and haven't had any problems until now. Aside from scratches on the outside edges, there are no structural problems and I haven't dropped the phone at all.
  • IPhone app that transforms your voice and plays funny voice back? - 1 It's an old app but I don't its name. It records your voice and then plays it back transformed version of it and even when you laugh, it tries to mimic your laughter causing hysterical laughter. Do you know what I'm talking about?
