Skype app on iOS7 (iPhone 5S)?

Is there a way to receive Skype app call notifications when the app is closed and not just minimized?

I have push notifications turned on for Skype in the iOS settings.

I have push notifications turned on for Skype within the Skype app settings.

I receive notifications of calls/ messages etc. When the app is minimized.

I do not receive any notifications when the Skype app is closed (double tap home button and slide app icon upwards) and this is really frustrating me.

Currently, you have to keep it minimized. There will be an update on 10/29/14 that allows it to be closed and still get Notifications to whomever is calling you.

  • Why does my screen go blank when I cover the cam on my iPhone on the Skype app? I have an iPhone 5 and when I'm on Skype - even when I'm not in a call and I cover the camera my screen goes blank. It also does this when I'm on the home screen and signed into Skype but not when I log off - I don't know whether this always happens and I've just never noticed it or whether something is up? X
  • Why can't I sign into SKYPE from my IPHONE Yesterday, my iPhone 4 broke so I got a new one (also an iPhone 4). Before I got the new phone, I was able to sign into Skype from my iphone. Even now I can sign into Skype from my computer, but the problem is that I can't sign in from my new iphone -- this is a problem because it is the only way I can call my deaf grandmother from out of the country when I'm not at home. I already tried it though, twice, for about 15 mins each and it didn't cost me. I want to chat for as long as I want to (at least an hour).So do you think it's okay and won't charge me extra?
