Smoke coming from iPhone headphone jack?
I dropped my phone in water and put it in rice. When I took it out everything was working except i had a piece of rice stuck in the jack. I tried to use a needle to get it out but i went too far and the jack started smoking and my phone won't turn on at all now. Is there anything I can do? Can i get it fixed or will it have to be replaced?
It kinda sounds like you pushed that grain of rice further down the jack, and now have shorted out the jack or motherboard. If it's just the jack, a replacement jack is usually what's needed for replacement. But there's also a chance that your motherboard may need replacement.
- What is the little hole besides the headphone jack on the iphone 4? Okay i have heard people with att that has an iphone say that if they stick a pin in the hole that a dim card tray will pop out. - Somehow, a huge piece of the headphone jack got stuck in the headphone port, and I can't find any I think the headphone type is just a normal iPhone headphone. So ground, audio, mic and some of the plastic, or whatever it is, around it, got stuck in there, and it's not super deep, probably because it's almost the whole headphone jack, but it's still in there. Someone please help! I can't find anything! It's just the headphone jack tip that got stuck for everyone else! It's a laptop.
- Is my iPhone the cause of my headphone jack breaking? So I have an iPhone 4S and I was using these headphones for about a year and all the sudden the jack you plug in to the phone, bent. It wouldn't work anymore. I don't know how this happened, it may not have been my iPhone. However, now I have a new pair of headphones and I just want to make sure it isn't my phone doing this, could it be my phone or is that very unlikely?
- Iphone headphone jack problem? The case I use for my iPhone pushes against my headphone jack when I plug it in, meaning the headphone jack barely fits in the phone, lately I have been hearing some static from my headphones, could this be from the misalignment of the jack and audio socket caused by the case? I tried multiple pairs of headphones so they are not causing the problem.
