Someone local has 10 New iPhone XSs. He says he buys in bulk. How on earth could he have gotten them?

I can't imagine it being from a drug deal because how would he get so many new.
I haven't heard of any stores having theft recently. Can someone explain this to me?

It could just be the shell and some cheap lesser tech inside. Sometimes there's nothing inside. But you won't find that out until you buy and try to use it. This is an old scam.

They could be cheap counterfeit iPhones. They can be bought from China in bulk and come in a replica box that makes them look real.

If it's to good to be true it probably is.

He is buying counterfeit merchandise.

Steer clear not only of the phones, but him, too.

I had bought an Apple Watch series 4 from the guy before seeing all his listings and it checked out fine. The deals are about $200 less than retail (so it's not crazy cheap) and he doesn't want to budge. I figure if he was fraud he would be dumping them

They're stolen, probably inside theft from a big box retailer like target or walmart.

I think there's some bulk/wholesale option to buy iPhones. Either that or they have multiple people collectively buy the phones & gather them after the fact.

  • Why could i have gotten a text message with no text box? Yesterday morning, I looked at my smart phone ( android) and I got a text from someone. I clicked on the contact's text and there was no message, no blank bubble, nothing. It just looked like one of us was getting ready to start a conversation but no message was sent. (Extra info: I may be wrong but I think this certain contact has an iphone.) What could cause this? I don't want to ask the person because it would be extremely awkward.
  • My Twitter has gotten hacked? Someone has been posting tweets on my twitter since last night. I have deleted the unwanted tweets and changed my password, and about an hour ago more tweets popped up. I think they are on a mobile device because I had to revoke access from my account from twitter for android (I have an iphone). What do I do about someone who has hacked my account from a mobile device?
  • Is there an app where you could call someone without them knowing and listen to their surroundings? Is it possible to do this without them installing the app on their device? For example an iPhone? I don't want to listen in on anyone I'm researching modern technology for a project.
  • IPhone 4s: Do you care when someone still buys/uses them in late 2013? A guy bought an iPhone 4s in late 2013 and gonna use it for the next 2 years before buying a new one. He didn't wanted to buy iPhone 5c or 5s because it's too expensive and besides he's 15 and he bought it using his savings so does anyone care with that? Does he looks old fashion? Would anyone make fun of him in class? What do you think?
