Someone sent me an itunes gift card over email but its in euros so itunes isn't letting me redeem it as i'm in canada?

No. An iTunes card in Euros can only be redeemed on a European account that uses Euros. Your account can only redeem cards that are in Canadian Dollars; even US$ cards can't be used.

If i were to buy an iTunes gift card, would that work in lieu of the credit card requirement? Also, the apps that i want to get are for the iPhone. Would buying an app with the gift card affect the plan with the phone in any way?
