Someone shattered my iphone screen and won't pay?

So a kid a school kicked a soccer ball and it knocked my iphone out of my hand and shattered the screen… The guy won't pay or do anything about it. Like can i bring the cops or the school into this? I've never been in this situation before.

Why is he going to pay? He didn't do it on intention. Cops won't do anything.

Honestly i don't think the police can do much about your situation. They have a lot more to deal with than a broken phone. My recommendation go break there phone and you'll be even. Jk I have no idea how old you are. But from what I'm reading it seems like your still in school. Maybe have your parents talk to they're parents and if they can't afford it then looks like your out of luck! Make them do your homework for a year.

What you have there's an "accident". Stuff happens. The police have nothing to do with this, it isn't a criminal matter. If you call them, they will just laugh and hang up.

There's no legal requirement for the person that kicked the ball to pay for your phone. You can pay to get it fixed, or buy a new one, but there's no legal way to get anybody else to pay for it.
