Someone took a photo of my driver license, should I be worried?

Yesterday I went to this small shop to send some money to my family oversea, but the lady there ask to see my driver license for security matter. As soon as I show her my DL, she quickly took a pic if it with her iPhone! I ask her why did she do it, and she said this is needed for security and she will delete after the money have successfully transfer. My family receive the money I sent today, but should I be worried because of that lady who took the pic of my DL?:/ will she do something bad with it?

I wouldn't be too freaked out about it. The only thing that concerns me is that she did it with a phone and not a scanner. But still don't be too worried.

Here's what you do. Go back there as soon as you can, and ask to speak to a manager / supervisor / person in charge. Let them know that she used the iPhone to zap a picture of your licence, and ask if that's the normal procedure.

If they say yes, because that's a company phone and that's how they do it, you're fine. If they say no and she should have done it with a photocopier or office scanner, then you may have a problem. But then you advise them that you'll be talking to the police about the matter, and the cops will handle it from there. This girl was working at the shop and you have the date & time that this happened, so the cops will be able to find her.

Yes, this was wrong for her to do it with the phone. Yes, the clerk can distribute personal data on it for illegal purposes.

It does have your address on it. The number they can't be used for other people's fines unless you sign on the fine. The only other thing is can they make a copy of it with just the picture.
