Sound on my iphone won't work?

This morning i woke up and i tried to listen to a song and when i went to turn the volume up, the little circle thing was gone. Every now and then it will come back but itll only stay for a few minutes. I can't really use my phone if i can't hear when i get texts and calls and i can't listen to music or have my phone on speaker and its just a big inconvenience and a lil annoying. Why is it doing this and how can i change it back to normal?

Try to reboot your device, or, go to the genius bar in any apple store and tell them about your problem!

I have an iphone 4s which is fully up to date, all of my sound is fine when my earphones are plugged in however when i have no earphones in i can't play music or hear any sound when on apps and games etc, but my sound works for facetime and when i'm on the phone to someone even on loudspeaker, it sometimes goes quiet though, i have tried everything i can think of to fix it and nothing will work, please help
  • Why won't the sound on my iPhone 4S work? I have had my iPhone for 3 months and it has been working fine. I used to share an iTunes account with my sister, and the sound would work on anything on my phone. Now, I made my own iTunes account and the sound for YouTube and iTunes will not work. The volume switch on the side is not set to orange. Any answers would be appreciated!

  • Sound won't work on iPhone? How do I fix it? I can't turn the sound up or down. I tried assistive touch but that doesn't work. I also tried turning my phone on and off and that didn't work either. It started to work for about and hour and now it's back to how it was. My alarm works fine though and sounds for text messages and phone calls so it's not the speaker. When I try to listen to music the sound bar is gone and when I try to listen to vine it just won't work? What can it be and how can I fix it?
