Static when sound plays on laptop?

8 hours ago my computer was fine. I closed it for the night and didn't turn it on until 9 this morning. There's suddenly this mild but annoying static noise occuring when sound plays through the laptop speakers and through my headphones that I plugged in, so I'm pretty sure it is not a hardware issue.

My laptop is an MSI gs70 laptop.

I tried the headphones in my iphone and they worked fine, so I know the headphones aren't messed up.

It's happened to my long time speakers recently, they randomly get static. I believe it is the hardware, even if you might not notice it. Whenever I move the "bass box" or third large speaker (it's a small box underneath my feet, bad habit of moving it) I notice the static comes out. It's not too bad though, it usually goes after a few seconds. Since yours is a laptop, I'm assuming they must be damaged somehow from wear and tear and usage of the laptop.

  • Why does my Ipad's ear buds have such a static sound? I record videos on my Ipad using iphone ear buds plugged into the audio port, but when I listen to the video, there's this annoying almost static-sounding white noise that is distracting. Its constant. I don't know how to stop this, to get clearer audio. Any tips?
  • VLC player for iPhone 5 only plays sound? So I was download Spongebob season one the other day as I'm in love with the series. Anyway. I figured that it would be easier to download VLC player app for iPhone than converting the.avi files to.mp4 files. As I was going to bed, ready to enjoy some spongebob I realized that the video didn't play, only the sound. So my question is: How do I fix this? I downloaded it as torrents from www.thepiratebay.sx, not from youtube or some other place.
  • Static/muffing sound in my Music? So I listen to a lot of classical music. All my music are cds and I use apple's lossless convertor to put them into my iphone. However when I listen to them on my iphone 4s I normally hear a static sound or muffing sound. I have a Klipsch S3 headphone. I was thinking of getting better AKG headphones, will that help to remove the Static sound?/
  • Static in left ear of Beats by Dre Studio? I just bought them yesterday and i LOVE them so far, but this morning when i plugged them into my mac, there was a cracking static in the left ear. They worked fine on my iphone 4 last night, but there was suddenly the crackle this morning. How do i fix it?
