Strange emails regarding random things?
Recently I have gotten a few emails and from a variety of different subjects, including but are not limited to: "Auto price finder", "Credit Cards" "SENSA" "Va loans". And this morning between 7:00 and 7:01, I received 9 more of these emails, I haven't opened any, but why am I getting these? I check them in my iPhone, and all I can read is the subject line, the rest of the text is like Chinese or something, or sometimes it's random words, like "farm jeals goths Jesu Christmas school shrugs eyeing Etta way ourselves hhaql" or it says "this message has no content" what is this, is it bad? What should/can I do?
Sounds to me you somehow let your email out in the public and someone or multiple someone's have gotten a hold of it. Did you post your email in a public message on facebook or twitter or even youtube? If not then there are some websites that will sell your email when you give it to them (like when you register an account) so that other people can send you advertisements, spam and even viruses in empty emails (I'm assuming that would be what the empty email and the gibberish email were for). I would probably scan your computer with a free antivirus software or if you have a paid for one then you could use that. A couple antivirus softwares I recommend are Malwarebytes free antivirus and Avast free antivirus. I would also recommend deleting any more of these that you get and do not open them.
This is called "spam".
If you have ever signed up for newsletters, magazines, websites and so on than your get spam.
There really is nothing you can do, other than delete it. I recommend to never open it, click any links inside the emails, or open any attachments from them. Just simply delete them, or report them as spam to your email provider.
One thing that might help to cut down on the spam, is by turning on your spam filter if it is already off.
Edit: No need for you to do a scan (you really can't since its an iPhone), but just reading an email doesn't give you malware or other. Now the gibberish that you describe as "Chinese" is probably miss-formated code. It is as simple as that, don't worry about it.
Yes, it is spam. Eventually most all email accounts will get them. Don't open any because sometimes they can tell it has been opened and you will start getting lots more. Just delete all that junk mail.
The only way to get rid of the spam is to stop using the email address, delete/ cancel
the account(s) that is being spammed.
Create an account using a hard to guess account name as well as a strong password.
Do not ever post the email address online. NEVER!
Use aliases when signing up for websites. If they get spammed… Cancel them. It is
so easy to create alias accounts such as provided by Hotmail that is now Outlook.
- Which is more accurate regarding the details of an iphone, iphoneimei.info or imei.info? When I look up the IMEI of my broken iphone 5s on iphoneimei.info it says it's 16gb and when I look it up on imei.info it says it's 32gb… Which site is more accurate? The iphone is stuck in recovery mode and will not power on unless connected and it won't tell me the storage capacity in itunes.
