Switching from iPhone to Samsung note 3?

I have had an iPhone for about 5 years now, but am eligible to upgrade my iphone 4 and am looking at the note 3. I was wondering if the note 3 for AT&T has group chat. Additionally, how are android devices as music players? I listen to a lot of music on my phone and want to know if the note 3 is a good music player, both with headphones and with the phones speakers.

Your going to lose iTunes, and the sound bit quality of the music, your downgrading.

I've never had this phone, but do have another Android issued by my job - Razr M. It's a good phone but I don't use it as my media player because it doesn't reliably seat microSD cards. (I've only tried this with one card, though I've seen card-mounting problems complained about by the owners of other androids.)
