Switching SIM cards quesiton?
I have an iPhone with a contact. If I were to get an unlocked iPhone on eBay or something and add the old iPhone's SIM card to the unlocked iPhone's SIM would it work or does it not work that way?
Yes, it'll work as long as the phone is unlocked. But if you're with Verizon or Sprint, you've to get CDMA version of iPhone so you can active it on your account. If you need help with getting the right phone for your carrier at reasonable price, mail me for more info.
Can't 'add a SIM to a SIM', & in any case unlocked phones don't come with SIMs. You use what SIM you have in that phone.
Yes, it would work. However, iPhone stores contacts in the phone, not on the SIM, so the contact would not move to the new phone. The iPhone can import contacts saved on the SIM, but it won't store its own contacts there. So unless your contact is on the SIM (stored by a previous non-Apple phone), you'll have to move it manually.
- Will T-Mobile have nano-sim cards when the new iphone comes out? I want to buy an unlocked new iphone when it comes out and use it for T-Mobile, but since the new iphone will most likely be using nano-sim cards. I want to know if T-Mobile will have nano-sim cards by the time the new iphone is released.
- Will switching sim cards from one iphone to another work? Basically my iphone 4s charging port will not work and won't charge normally and stays at about 5 percent. It also won't connect to my PC. To avoid using i cloud and everything can i just switch one sim card to the new iphone 4s and will all my memory be on there? If not what will?
- When switching my sim to an iphone do I have to wait for the sim to shut off first? I'm transferring my number from a normal sim to a micro sim for my new iphone. I did what they told me to do in the shop and now i'm to wait for my original sim to lose signal before i can put the new one into the iphone. Is it okay for me to go ahead and do that before the original sim loses signal or do I have to wait?
- Taking out sim cards and cellular data on iPhone 4s? Currently I'm in a different country and do not want any unexpected charges to pop up on my bill when I return. My sim card is out but I still send emails and browse the internet using the local wi-fi from my location; since the sim card is out, I won't be charged? Also, what is cellular data? Like I said, I took out my sim card and data roaming is disabled but cellular data is turned on, I won't be charged for it being on since the sim card isn't inserted, correct?
