Switching to the iPhone before my upgrade? - 1

I have a droid and I have Verizon Wireless. I know you can get the iPhone 4S for $99 if you get a new contract, but I already have a contract and I used my upgrade a year ago so I think I have another year left until I get another upgrade. You can also get the iPhone 4S from Apple for $99 but you need to fill in your cell service info so I'm confused if this deal also requires a new phone contract or not? I guess what I'm asking is is there any way I can switch to the iPhone for the $99 without getting a new contract, or will I have to pay full price of $500-something? I don't really get how this works.

Added (1). I really want the iPhone for my own reasons, and I easily have $100 to spend for it (not $500 though), so I really just want to know if that's possible

I've had the iphone 3g and now I have the 4. I'm waiting on the 5 to come in. If I were you, with the iphone experience I have, I would just wait until your next upgrade comes up because the iphone compared to android isn't all that great. The 4s isn't even 4g so I would say if you're even going to get an iphone it would definitely have to be the 5 just so you can have the same up to date features everyone else has had on android for awhile now. I've actually been thinking about switching to android from iOS. So to sum it up, I'd wait and save until you have an upgrade.

Just so you know the iPhone is an awful excuse for a phone.

  • Upgrade iphone by switching sims? I have a company iPhone 4s from sprint. I also have a personal cell phone but am tired of having to pay for it and carry two phones. I want to upgrade my work phone but my company doesn't want to upgrade me. If I buy a 5s or a 6 myself is it possible to just swap SIM cards into it? Would my company notice anything on the bill if I did this without them knowing?
