Syncing iPhone (4S) to new computer?
I recently got a new computer and managed to transfer all of my music to iTunes from my iPod and all of the pictures from my iPhone's camera roll and contacts to my computer itself. When I plugged in my iPod and opted it to sync, iTunes said it would have to wipe everything out then replace it with the current library; no problem, worked fine. I then tried to do the same thing with my iPhone, but instead of simply doing what I did with my iPod, a box comes up saying that not enough space is left on my phone to transfer anything. Nothing about replacing previous data with the new library.(And, yes, I have authorized my computer and am using the same account I did on my previous laptop with the phone.)
What can I do to get the phone to sync the same way my iPod did?
Try to choose the files you want to sync on iTunes.
It sounds like you've got more stuff on your iTunes than will fit on your iPhone 4S. One of the many problems with syncing is that it blocks up room on your device for everything set to sync from iTunes even if it's not ultimately transferred. I had that same problem with my son's iPod Touch 4 a few years ago - it showed he had exceeded his iPod's capacity by several GB because of videos which weren't even on his iPod. When I enabled manual management, suddenly all the memory freed up.
I never sync my iPod - it's always set for manual management of music and video. I've done that for years and never had the problems complained of by you or anybody else posting questions here using the word "sync". I've used MM in various generations of iPod and iPhone - incl. IPhone 5.
I suppose 4Videosoft iPhone to Computer Transfer Ultimate can transfer iPhone files to your new computer with ease. Search more information about it on the website and have a free try.
