T-Mobile Nokia Lumia 925 with straight talk?

Ima try to cut to the chase, I'm looking for a new phone, and I want it to be a windows phone 8 phone, suitable to replace my Ipod for gaming, yet cheaper than Iphone. The problem: my parents aren't spend crazy, they never would buy a contact phone, so i'm limited with the options. I thought, what if I got the 925 (Which is at walmart for about $130), unlocked it myself (I know how to do it), and then hook up through my families straight talk plan? I went to google to find out the possibility, but haven't gotten anything useful… Can somebody tell me if this is possible?

Yes you can if you get it unlocked. They will want you to sign up for the $45 unlimited plan since it is a smartphone, and you will be using the phone on the AT&T network.since it is a T-Mobile phone, some features may not work quite as you expect. You will pay about $15 for the sim.

There are alternatives. Walmart has a family mobile plan that is through T-Mobile, T-Mobile has its own no-contract plans now, and you can also look at going into another reseller (MVNO) like Solavei. Their plan is unlimited talk, text and 3g, plus 4gb of 4g per month for $49. If you go with one of these you will be on the carrier your phone was made for. No need to unlock, you may need to tweak the APN settings to make data work.

Kudos to your parents. I haven't had a contract phone in years, and I've never looked back.
