Of course, many use it for that. Not sure why you think the internet won't work unless you are leaving the country, but even in that case imessage is still free (and will work over Wi-Fi). Otherwise you can also download a chat program like whatsapp.
Nto sure what you mean by charge cycle, never heard of it.

  • Working holiday visa NZ - proof of finances? Can I use a screenshot on my iphone of my bank finances instead of a print out at customs? I'm travelling at the moment and fly tomorrow night but don't have access to a printer.
  • What technology should I take on holiday? I wanted to take my ipad mini for playing games or watching movies but didn't want to listen to music off it because I feel it is to big to take to the beach were as an iPod shuffle or nano is small enough to be discreet but I then i could take my iPhone 4 but I'm fed up of it and want to replace my phone with the htc one so is it stupid to take all this tech, has anybody got any buying advice
  • What should I ask for this holiday season? My family celebrates both Hanukkah and Christmas so my mom is asking for my wish list since Hanukkah is early this year? I have a couple tops and scarves, some books/drawing books and some DVDs I want but I need some more things for my list! I want to take my ipad mini so I could play games and movies but didn't want to listen to music off it because I feel it's to big for around the swimming pool so I was going to take my iPhone but after using nearly every day for music I'm bored of it and so I had an iPod shuffle but without the cable so I was going to buy another one is it worth it, I go on holiday it a week so need to make decisions now
