Tips on transferring certain songs from iTunes to iPhone, please?

Okay, so I have like 8.3 GB worth of songs on my iTunes. But I only have a 16 GB iPhone which of course doesn't necessarily mean it really is 16 GB. So most of the space has been occupied by my gazillion photos and apps, so here's my request:

Do any of you have some tips on how to make my life easier and transfer the songs I like the most and leave the ones I don't listen to that much? My space budget is around 4 GB.

Go to the iTunes app then go to everything purchased off device download what you want. Or on iTunes you can select what you want and download all at once.
