To use an AT&T iPhone 4S with straight talk, does it need to be unlocked?
I'm going to switch my iPhone 4S over from AT&T to straight talk. I'm unsure wether the phone needs to be unlocked or not. Some blogs say it doesn't, some suggest it. I've had mixed answers from straight talk reps. I don't know what to think! Does it need to be unlocked or not to use the phone with straight talk?

Straight Talk's GSM devices use the AT&T infrastructure and in terms of factory unlocking there's no difference in the classification between iPhones locked to AT&T directly or their subsidiary network resellers like Straight Talk. So the answer is NO, you don't need to unlock it. Don't listen to all the spammers wanting you to pay for nothing.
