Trading in my s3 for an iPhone 5?
I bought my Galaxy SIII on T-Mobile before they had iPhone 5 available. While the SIII is a reasonable phone, I have many major issues with it (lack of integration between other devices {iPad}, no drop to folders, outdoor brightness, buried apps, massive amounts of bloat ware, unfriendly user interface, terrible battery life, and overall dislike with the operating system).
Now T-Mobile has the JUMP program, and currently there's no down payment for it.So, I can trade my SIII in for an iPhone 5 for $27/mo. The money isn't really an issue here.
My questions are more about ease of transfer. I have a relative amount of pictures and media on my SIII on a MicroSD card, as well as internal storage. Can I simply drop these files to my PC and sync them to iPhone with iTunes later on?
Any other integration and transfer issues I should be aware of before the switch?
Anyone else make the switch? I can't be the only one who just doesn't like the SIII, can I?
Also, for Apple users, the apps I've purchased on my iPad will be available for free on iPhone, correct?
Funny, I'm looking to switch to the Galaxy S4 from an iPhone 4S. Anyway, here are my answers to your questions:
-As far as the pics go, you will definitely be able to drop them off on your PC if you have a MicroSD slot. To get them onto your soon-to-be new iPhone, I believe you can use iTunes. Though, in personal experience, I have had little to no luck using iTunes to get my photos onto my phone. I just stick with iPhoto on my Mac for that-works flawlessly.
-From what I know, music and the like that you may have purchased on the Google Play store won't be able to sync over to the iPhone. I may be wrong, but I haven't heard too much about being able to do so.
-Anyone else make the switch? Obviously a lot of people. I think both the Apple people and the Droid people are switching ships now.
-Yes, if you have purchased apps on your iPad that are compatible with the iPhone you will be able to download them for free because you have already paid for them. You can look them up under the purchases tab in the App Store.
Hope I helped to answer your questions!
All apps on an iphone run on the ipad also, but specific ipad apps are for the big screen. (and look much nicer on the ipad too because they are built specifically for it).
