Transferring data to new iphone using itunes - but still using old phone?
I have an iphone 5 and now need to transfer everything over to an iphone 5s
I tried icloud but it said I didn't have enough storage to complete the icloud backup.
I then used itunes to backup everything on my old phone,
However, my EE number is being transferred and will take up to 48hrs so I'm unsure as to when my old phone will become inactive.
Can I backup my new iphone using the itunes backup, but still have access to the messages/photos on my old phone?
I will be at work tomorrow when the phone number is being transferred so ideally I would like a phone that I can use.
Firstly, if you do not have any new data on your iphone, then you can use iTunes backup to recover your old data to your iphone. (note, this backup will remove the current data of your new iphone.)
Secondly, iTunes can only recover some data, like music, videos. But contacts, call history, messages, notes, etc.can't be recover by iTunes.
Thirdly, you can use iCloud backup for several times to back up your old data, then recover them for several tiems. But that's time-consuming.
Last one is to use a tool to transfer all of them for one time. That's safe and easy. My friend has used FoneTrans to remove them. It has the free trial, you can ahve a try just for future's use. Hope it can help you.

- Transferring old iPhone pics into new iPhone? I bought an iPhone 5s yesterday. My old phone was a 4s. I had a lot of important pictures on it. How can I put them all in my new phone's camera roll? I really don't want to download them from iTunes because that will put them in a folder that can only be manipulated from my laptop. I want them in my regular camera roll. Can I use photo stream to send them to my new phone and save them from there? Is there any way I can use iCloud to transfer them?
- Transferring everything from old to new iphone? My iphone 4 was stolen, but i still have an old iphone 3.normally when you buy a brand new iphone, i know that when you connect it to your computer it automatically puts everything from your old iphone on your new one (contacts, pictures etc.) But the one i want to use now has a lot of old stuff on it, its basically not "empty". When i plug it into the computer i don't see the option to put everything from my old phone on the new one. How can i do this?
- Just switched my number to a new iphone, but my old phone still works? I just went and started an individual plan and got a new iphone 5, and they carried over my number from the virgin mobile prepaid i had before. My new iphone can make calls and send and receive texts… But so can my old phone. And when i called my cell number using my house phone, my old phone rang, but my new iphone didn't. Do i have to like cancel service or something? I'm confused about what to do, the guys at apple didn't mention anything about it.
