Transferring Photos From iPhone to Google Pixel Through iCloud?

Hello- I just bought a Google Pixel phone yesterday through my cell phone carrier. I'm going from an iPhone to this phone. So they were able to transfer my contacts and calendars and stuff there, but they said that I d have to manually transfer my photos at home through icloud.com. So before I traded my iPhone in, I did that backup in settings where it says "Back up Now," so I know that my phone data is backed up on my iCloud. But when I logged in on icloud.com, and clicked photos, it says I have to turn on my iCloud photo library. That wasn't on when I turned my phone in. Is there any place that my photos are stored where I can access them? Because I know that I backed up my phone, I just can't find my photos.

Did you ever have iCloud set up to the point where it was actually syncing your contacts and photos? It's a different thing from the whole-phone backup meant to restore or transplant your stuff. On the plus side, all you need is an iPhone to get it back.

If they're not backed up than you're out of luck. And it says that they weren't backed up. See if you can get your phone back. I'm curious why you turned it in in the first place. You generally don't need to to that unless you are taking advantage of some trade in promo.
Call the store right away to see if they still have the phone and haven't deleted the data. I know when I worked in a shop, if we got a phone we would clear it out right away.
