Traveling overseas with iPhone 5s?
I'm very paranoid that I'll rack up a huge cell bill while overseas. The only thing I need to do is turn off cellular data?
Turning off the data connection will stop any apps or the operating system itself from downloading data, so you wouldn't have to pay any data charges. However, you should still find out what the score is with call charges so that you know what's affordable. With some contracts you have to pay to answer calls when abroad, so make sure you know about any sneaky charges like that too.
Put it on Airplane Mode & leave it there until you come back. You could turn on Wi-Fi after it is enabled to at least use that.
- Will Sprint Unlock My iPhone if I'm Traveling Internationally? I'm going to Philippines with my friend in two months and I was wondering if Sprint would unlock our iPhones. If they will, would it be free? Cause I plan on using it in Philippines. We're just going to buy a sim card. When I was with T-Mobile, they unlocked my phone for China.
- Why won't my iPhone 4S make or receive calls when traveling internationally? Celluar data is turned off because i don't want to get charged. My phone worked the first week I was in France. Now it doesn't work, still in France. My phone doesn't detect calls and when i dial numbers it doesn't ring
- When traveling, can I buy a SIM card to my iphone even though I'm still on a contract? I'm traveling soon. I have verizon and their roaming service is very expensive. I was wondering if once I get to my destination country, can I buy a SIM card so that I can be able to obtain phone service while on my trip? If not, My iphone is still under contract, if I get my phone unlocked, then buy a SIM card, would that also be a problem?
