Unable to load certain websites after installing Wi-Fi router?

I'm connected on a LAN network, My ISP has a PPTP connection to access the internet.everything working fine after i installed TP-LINK Wi-Fi router. I configured the Wi-Fi router and can access only google related services like gmail, google.com, youtube. No other websites work. Even though i can ping outside while connected through the Wi-Fi router. But pages do not load.hotmail works a little it loads uptill i can see the green on the address bar and continues to load but nothing shows up.browser tries to load facebook but continues to load. Even on my iPhone the problem is there same. After removing the Wi-Fi router everyting comes back to normal again. But i want to connect the laptop and iPhone too.

I assume the TP-link router has a WAN Ethernet port and 4 PC ports in addition to the wireless connection. Have you got another router provided by your ISP or just a modem? I assume whatever you use when you don't have the TP-link connected has an Ethernet port.

Connect the WAN port on the TP-link router to your existing ISP equipment.

Log on to the TP-link router and change its sub-net address. By default it will probably be on something like the 192.168.1.0 sub-net and the router's address will possibly be 192.168.1.1. Try changing the router's address to 192.168.11.1. (That is change the third number in the router's address.) Also, make sure that the router has it's DHCP service enabled. Reboot the router, wait two minutes then reboot the laptop and see if this makes any difference.

Alternatively, if you already have a router without wireless from your ISP, then you can connect the TP-link differently.

You can connect one of the PC ports on the TP-link to your ISP's router. You might need a cross-over Ethernet cable to do this - try a normal cable first. Turn OFF the DHCP service in the TP-link router, and make sure the TP-link router is on an unused address - for example, if the ISP router is on address 192.168.1.1, then set the TP-link router on address 192.168.1.254.

Access your router's log-in page by entering 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 then go to WAN setting there you may see a field called MTU with some default value like 1492, 1490, 1480, 1500, etc Try replacing it with any of four (you can also try your own value but be sure not to cross 1500 in highest 1400 in below value.

Hope that will help.

  • Windows was unable to connect to thomson router? I accidentally turned my router off today for about 10 minutes (Thomson TG585 v7) and now I can't connect with any device at all, ipad, iphone, laptop, ps3 etc. I've gone through all of the settings in the router to try and configure it but nothing I do works. I've had this problem many times in the past but it comes back on and things can connect again… Sometimes, it's just unpredictable.

  • Why won't certain websites work on my computer? The two websites I know of that don't work are amazon.com and collegeconfidential.com. Amazon works on Safari, but not Chrome or Internet Explorer. College Confidential doesn't work on any browsers, but my iPhone. Why is this happening, and how can I fix it? College Confidential is very important because I will be applying to college soon, and there's a lot of information that I would like to read on there.
