Unlock an iPhone and I don't know the passcode?

My friend stole an iPhone from a random stranger when he was at the mall… He just pulled it straight out of the person's pocket and sold it to me for $50… I tried to restore it already but after I do, it says the iPhone can't be found so nothing happens! I don't know what to do now, and there's no other way to unlock it other than figuring out the passcode or jailbreaking it, but I don't know who's iPhone it is so there's no way I'd even be able to figure out the passcode and I don't want to jailbreak it either… I also don't want to take it to a store… Any help please?

First off your friend shouldn't have stole the phone and sold it to you and you shouldnt be a thiefs friend but there's no other way to get it unlocked without going to a store so sorry

Put it into Recovery Mode (look in youtube) then press restore: D
