Unlocked iPhone and SIM cards?
I've got an iPhone 4S at the moment and I use "virgin" service and I have a plan. I was wondering if I would be able to buy another iPhone 4 and insert my SIM card into it. Would it work just fine? Would it have to be unlocked? I'm a little confused about the whole thing!
It would need to be unlocked to work with a different provider.
If it's unlocked - then you can use another SIM card.
- Will T-Mobile have nano-sim cards when the new iphone comes out? I want to buy an unlocked new iphone when it comes out and use it for T-Mobile, but since the new iphone will most likely be using nano-sim cards. I want to know if T-Mobile will have nano-sim cards by the time the new iphone is released.
- What happens if I trade iPhones 5 for another iphone 5 and keep our SIM cards? Does all my stuff move to the other iphone or does it stay with my old phone? Do apps, email, messages and etc move to the other phone or stay in the old one
- Taking out sim cards and cellular data on iPhone 4s? Currently I'm in a different country and do not want any unexpected charges to pop up on my bill when I return. My sim card is out but I still send emails and browse the internet using the local wi-fi from my location; since the sim card is out, I won't be charged? Also, what is cellular data? Like I said, I took out my sim card and data roaming is disabled but cellular data is turned on, I won't be charged for it being on since the sim card isn't inserted, correct?
- Jailbroken iPhone - Different sim cards won't work? I found an iphone 3G about a year and a half ago and tried to return it to its owner without any luck. Anyway I jailbroke it the other day with the latest version of redsnow using 4.2.1 and everything works find except for making calls and texts. It just either says sim locked or searching at the top left hand side of the screen, depending on the sim I put in. A phone store said the firmware I'm using is too recent. Could this be the case? Any help please and thank you
