Update Fail on iPhone and Now It Won't Get Detected By Computer?

Background Info: I have an iPhone 3GS that I wanted to update to the latest iOS software (6.0 I think) and after the update had been downloaded, and while it was being applied to the phone it crashed and the update was unable to finish.

Now, my phone is stuck on the screen which shows a USB connector with an arrow pointing to the iTunes logo, asking that I connect it to iTunes. When I do, the computer doesn't detect it's been connected, so I can't do anything.

I've tried the solutions on various forums, the Apple Support pages and I will contact Apple if nothing works. I've tried to restore it by holding the off and home button down, I've tried different USB ports on my computer, I've tried holding the home button as I connect it and nothing is working.

If any of you share this experience, please let me know of your solutions, Thanks.

Have you downloaded the latest version of iTunes, apple devices are very funny about always needing the newest version you can download it from here http://www.apple.com/...om/itunes/

If after installing this and you still can't get your phone to work, it would be best to take it to your nearest Apple store.
