Updating unlocked iPhone 4 to latest ios without losing carrier?

I have an iPhone 4, not 4s, and the current ios is 4.0.2., and the current carrier is T-Mobile. I need too know if updating it will take out the carrier and/or brick my phone.

if so update with sn0wbreeze so you can keep that baseband and unlock it once you update and jailbreak.

  • Will updating my iphone 4 to ios 6 will disable its carrier unlock? My Iphone 4 is currently running on ios 4.3.3 and I wish to update it to the new os (the ios 6), but don't want to lose its carrier unlock. I don't actually know if its an official factory unlock or what but what I know is that the Iphone is not jailbreaked (So If I assume right, Is it really a factory unlock and won't be affected by any update?). Please give the answers not involving a jailbreak.

  • My iPhone isn't updating to the latest iOS update? Everytime I try to update it goes as far as to agreeing with Terms and Conditions. After I choose Agree, it doesn't do anything, and I've tried resetting and turning my phone on and off but it's not working. Also, everytime I try to update it from my computer it always makes me take it to the Apple Store to fix it.
