Use iTunes Match to move music to new computer?

I recently bought a new laptop and now need to move my itunes library to my new computer. I know i can use iTunes to transfer the purchased music from my iPhone 4S to my new computer but that leaves out a lot of my music that wasn't purchased from the iTunes Store. Should I use iTunes Match? I sort of have a vague understanding of the service. I want my library saved on the new computer and still want it saved in my phone too. I don't want to only have my music saved in the cloud. I don't have to do it like that, right?

  • Network Connection for Itunes match? Alright so i'm thinking of getting Itunes match right now as I have thousands of songs and I'd prefer to actually not download them to my Iphone, just listen to them through Itunes match thingy now my question is; do I need network connection to listen to the songs who are on Cloud?
