Using Skype internationally without Wi-Fi?
Okay my boyfriend is going away and he has unlimited Internet on his phone, I know some of them are like up to this much but his really is unlimited and basically I don't know wether he will have access to Wi-Fi where he is going but can you use Skype using just the Internet, it's an iPhone so is it possible to use FaceTime as well?
If his phone plan can support him in that region, he can use skype with just his data plan. And he can use FaceTime as well.
It is important to remember that call and data allowances are in your home network and country only, they rarely if ever extend abroad.
Your boyfriend may have unlimited data usage at home but it is extremely unlikely that will apply abroad. He will have to pay for data usage at the rate his network sets for the country he will be in.
He could indeed use Skype internationally using either high speed network connection or Wi-Fi but if he is using the mobile network the cost is going to mount up quite quickly if he uses video chat.

- Using Skype from canary islands? I'm travelling to Tenerife and would like to use Skype through my iPhone to call the uk. I have a monthly contract with the 3 network and use Skype regularly within the uk so no problem there. What imy cheapest option to call the uk via Skype from Tenerife? I'm not worried if I have to use a different network if that's my best option.
