Viewing the original creation date of a file which has been sent over the internet?
My dilemma: I'm trying to put a date to on a.mov video file that was recorded with an iphone and then sent, presumably from the phone itself, via email. The creation date on the video seems to be the date it was sent (I checked this by sending an old video to myself and it held true) rather than the date it was originally created. Is there some way around this or am I screwed?
Feel free to ask for additional information.
Thanks
Added (1). Edit. Yes windows overrides the creation date when you save the file, but I have some 3rd party software that can get around that.
The real problem is it seems like the iphone creates a new copy of the file in order to send it via email and the data i'm looking for remains trapped in a phone somewhere, which i can't access.
On a windows machine right click on it and select properties and go through the tabs. Funnily enough in the past I have found that by changing the file extension from say.pub to.doc you can get more info!
Right-click file > properties > details tab will give you the most information.
Windows has a nasty habbit of setting the creation date of a file to the time that you've saved it from your email. It doesn't keep the creation date from the original file. I can't believe that they still haven't done anything about this "bug".
You should check with the owner of the file to check on the original file.
- When you load an mp3 to iTunes, do you still need the original file? I download my music through other music downloading sites/stores and I only use iTunes to organize them and get the music to my iPhone. When I download these mp3's they are stored in my iMac's Downloads folder and I have a ton of music in that file. Do I still need these mp3's or can I delete the ones just floating around in my Downloads folder?
- What is the best music creation app out for iphone? I'm looking for something like the way fruity loops use to be, multiple instruments and tracks so I can create layered songs. I've heard garage band isn't too great so can you recommend me some good music creation apps for the iPhone from personal experience?
- Viewing my Mobile Date Usage? So today I got a text saying i've used 80% of my date usage. It re-sets on the 4th, I got the text at 1.30am today and I don't see how I used that much date while I was asleep, and if anything was running, why did it use up all usage? I get 4GB a month. I have a iPhone 5s, my Mobile Data Usage says 3.3GB, is this my total usage (got the phone last month) or my usage in a day?
- My iPhone 4S keeps turning off over and over and over again? I was on my phone just listening to OM&M on pandora and going on twitter when all of a sudden it shut off and now it's stuck on the turning off screen for like an hour or two. What do i do I'm FREAKING OUT.
